What we do
Carrier of record, and not much else
A VoIP company can build a good product, price it well and support it properly, and still be stopped by the part of the business that has nothing to do with any of that: being the carrier of record. Somebody has to be the regulated entity behind the numbers. Somebody has to answer when a regulator, a court or a traceback group asks who is responsible for a call.
That is the role we take. Our partners sell and run the service. We are the carrier of record for the customers they bring, and we carry the obligations that go with it.
Who does what
The partner does the business. Marketing, sales, pricing, provisioning, billing the end customer, technical support, account management, and the ordinary work of keeping customers happy. The customer signs up with the partner, pays the partner and calls the partner when something breaks. As far as the customer is concerned, the partner is the phone company — and for every practical purpose, they are.
We do the compliance. The regulatory registrations and filings, the numbering obligations, robocall mitigation and call authentication, cooperation with industry traceback, and the handling of lawful process and abuse complaints. See compliance for what that covers in more detail.
Neither of us does the other’s job. We do not contact, market to or support our partners’ customers, and we do not compete with our partners for them. In return, a partner does not get to treat compliance as somebody else’s problem: the traffic on our network is our name on the record, so we ask questions about it, and we expect answers.
We do not sell direct
There is no signup page here, no rate card and no order form, because there is nothing for an end customer to buy. If you want service from a company that uses us as its carrier of record, you buy it from that company. We also do not publish a list of our partners — who a provider buys wholesale from is their business to disclose, not ours.
If you are a provider and want to talk
Send a note to support@unbundlednetworks.com describing your company, the service you sell, roughly how much traffic you carry and what that traffic looks like. There is no form and no portal. A person reads it.
We will not pretend that this always goes somewhere. We take on a limited number of partners, we ask direct questions about traffic and customer vetting before we agree to anything, and we decline more often than we accept. Being the carrier of record means the answers matter to us.
